January Growth Group

Hello ladies,

I trust you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving.  Hopefully it was relaxing rather than stressful!

I wanted to let you know how things are shaking out for January.  We will be starting again on Tuesday, January 4 at 9:00 a.m. in the Café.   I'm still debating whether 9:00 or 9:15 is a better starting time.  I realize that for several of you, 9:00 is difficult, as you're getting kids off to school and daycare at that time.  We'll visit this again.  Or, send me a reply and let me know what you think.   We'll be doing two shorter studies by Stonecroft Ministries emphasizing relational evangelism.  This will be an excellent and practical follow-up to the Gospel in Life study that we did, and it will be much less demanding  (I can hear the sigh of relief…).  Along with these, we will be reading a few pages from Elisa Morgan's "I Can" Evangelism book each week.  As you may know, Elisa is the founder of MOPS, and she has a very easy-to-understand and down-to-earth approach to relational evangelism.  I'm attaching a preview of the book so you can get an idea.

If you would, please RSVP and let me know whether you will be joining us again.  Of course, I'm certainly hoping that you will all be enthusiastically on board with us!   Please remember to be inviting friends to join us, as well.

Reminders:

1.       Vancouver Christmas Project --  choir concerts this coming Sat and Sun evenings, 6:00 p.m. at Evergreen High School.  Please invite lots of people!  Price – FREE, but we're encouraging you to bring new children's shoes and socks to go toward Northwest Children's Outreach

2.       Women's Christmas Dessert – Sat, Dec 11 at 7:00 p.m.  Price -- $6.  Please be inviting friends and neighbors.  Also, remember to bring donations of warm clothing, toiletry items (especially feminine products), and kitchen linens (aprons, towels, dish cloths) for Shepherd's Door of Portland

3.       Tuesday, Dec 14 – 9:00 a.m.  We're gathering as a growth group (and anyone else you'd like to invite along, including children) in the Café to assemble our things for Shepherd's Door.  We'll then be going down to Portland to deliver and get a tour of the facility.   I was suggesting that we go for lunch after, whoever would like.  I still am looking for one person with a van to be able to more easily transport "the goods".  We'll need a few different drivers.  Please RSVP.

Thanks, girlfriends!

Remember to keep your eyes on Christ, your Prince of Peace, throughout the holiday season!  J
