I had posted on my Facebook page a link to a new book / DVD / study for Lysa Terkeurst’s Made to Crave and asked women to give me feedback. Well, here is our first review, from Shannon P (one of our own BP women). We hope to have a small group doing this soon:
“You had mentioned if I read the book to let you know how it is. Kelly Wahlstrom asked me to read it with her, and watch the video clips. She knows for the past year I've talked about wanting to make a lasting change- and I wish I could scream this book to the roof tops. Almost every paragraph speaks to me, and other times convicts me. Makes me laugh at its truth, and shed tears from the lifetime of struggling with this. I think it's going to be AMAZING. I hope people and women really feel brave enough and strong enough to want to take this journey, because it's going to be hard, and it's going to be an entirely new way of thinking, behaving, reacting and it's going to be probably the hardest thing I've had to do- but it's gonna be amazing, and it's going to be a life time of change.. it really does teach you, you don't have to have to have the "want to" right off the bat- and this is not a how to. It's to train your head and heart to crave after God, and not after the things of this world- and her no. 1 thing for women she focuses on, is food. I love that it's not a guide of how to get skinny and pray your way through it- uh uh- it's the tools to how to listen to the self convictions God gives us, as a means to reveal to us where He wants us to work on in the area of food. He loves me as I am, but too much to allow me to feel the way I do about myself, which hinders my relationship with Him. God knows I'm a prisoner of this issue, it traps me, and she makes you feel empowered to truly BELIEVE you can do this ONCE AND FOR ALL. Anyway. that's my review of the book so far LOL.. sorry I rambled!!!!! I'm excited for the group study, to be around women who "get it", empathize, where we can feel safe and secure to talk about the forbidden subject that's SO often ignored, masked yet completely debilitating to the spirit..”
